Terms of Service
Last updated: September 14, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Common Room Collective website and the consulting, Discord server, and Twitch broadcasting services we provide. By engaging us or using this site, you agree to the terms below.
1. Services
Common Room Collective provides professional consulting, Discord server architecture, and Twitch broadcast engineering services. The specific scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing of each engagement are defined in a separate proposal or statement of work agreed between you and Common Room Collective.
Any start dates, turnaround times, or delivery estimates are good-faith projections and are not guaranteed unless stated in writing in your proposal.
2. Engagements & Payment
Unless otherwise agreed in your proposal, projects require a deposit to reserve a start date, with the balance due according to the milestones set out in your statement of work. Pricing is quoted in Canadian dollars (CAD).
Rush turnaround, additional revision rounds, and other modifiers listed in your proposal are billed as described there. Invoices not paid within the stated terms may pause work until payment is received.
3. Client Responsibilities
To deliver on schedule, you agree to provide timely access, information, and approvals. This may include:
- Access to relevant accounts, channels, or platforms as needed for the engagement.
- Prompt responses to review requests and reasonable feedback within agreed timeframes.
- Accurate and complete information about your project, audience, and any third-party rights.
- Compliance with the terms of any third-party platforms (e.g., Discord, Twitch) your project uses.
4. Revisions & Scope
Each engagement includes the number of revision rounds specified in your proposal. Requests that materially change scope, add new deliverables, or extend beyond the agreed work are handled as change orders and may be quoted separately.
5. Intellectual Property
Upon full payment, you receive ownership of the final, delivered custom assets created for your project, to the extent stated in your proposal. Common Room Collective retains the right to display completed work in our portfolio and marketing materials unless you request otherwise in writing.
Third-party tools, templates, stock assets, or open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses. Pre-existing frameworks and methods developed by Common Room Collective remain our property and are licensed to you for use within your project only.
6. Confidentiality
We treat your non-public information with care and do not share it with third parties except as needed to perform the engagement or as required by law.
7. Limitation of Liability
Common Room Collective provides professional services on a best-efforts basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from an engagement is limited to the amounts you paid us for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for losses arising from third-party platforms, account suspensions, or factors outside our control.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement for material breach with written notice. Work completed and deposits for reserved time up to the termination date are non-refundable unless the termination is due to our breach.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version displayed on this page is the current version, and the 'last updated' date reflects the most recent revision.
10. Contact
Questions about these Terms or an engagement can be sent through the consultation form on this site or to the contact details provided in your proposal.
